There are lessons we can learn from the past about how to combat child labour but there are also myths to discard. Powerless children were made apprentice chimney sweeps from 1773 master chimney sweeps regularly kept anywhere from 2 to 20 children depending on how many they could use for their business. A lot of young people don t believe me but others do and a friend advised me to describe the life in detail.
