Crowncoat will waterproof your chimney crown keeping it from deteriorating. Apply it to the surface with a trowel or putty knife at a thickness of 1 8 to 1 4. This thicker material can cover larger cracks in chimney crowns and is applied with a trowel. Simply put a light coat over the entire crown followed immediately with a thicker topcoat.

Cures completely in 6 8 hours during warm weather or 24 72 hours in cooler weather. I used it the following day. Chimneysaver crownprep is a proprietary water based acrylic conditioner. It spread like butter and created a smooth and water tight seal. The temperature was around 70 degrees when i was using the product and found you must move quickly once you start. Smooth with water and paint brush.
