Chevy Truck Door Latch Stuck Closed

I know the door latch is broken my question is how do i open the door.

So every time i lock the door and use the door outter door handle to open the door it will get stuck. Waited tried door waited tried door repeat for over an hour got rough with door by holding handle open and pulled until it started to move then worked it until it opened. Usually caused by a broken. Roll the window down and carefully push the door panel away at the top right above the latch rear of door then look down inside the door at the latch and figure out which rod fell of the latch.

Took off inside panel and seat belt assembly then unscrewed latch assembly again sprayed the rusted latch and worked it until it was free not easy but with patience. All linkage is in. Im unable to take the door panel off with the door shut. Hey guys my drivers side door will not open from the outside as well as inside.

You can take a long screw driver of piece of drill rod and manipulate the lever that opens the latch to get the door open and make repairs as needed. This somehow prevents the door lock from disengaging which prevented the door from opening. Well in my case the little plate wasn t popping back out.
